Replacing rice with other grains

Rice is a often a regular addition to many soups, stews and casseroles.  For those on a rotation allergy diet it is necessary to alternate grains.  For others, its a great way to get new taste, texture and added nutrition into a familiar meal.

Try replacing half or all of the rice with another grain that compliments it, like Quinoa.

Millet is an excellent replacement for rice in simmered stews.

Cook up small to medium amounts of Amaranth or Teff and add to meals until heated through before serving.
